Join your neighbors for an immersive journey from the surface of the Sun to the furthest reaches of our galaxy. We’re bringing a high-tech "Smart Telescope" to show you that you don't need a mountain-top observatory to capture the cosmos. We’ll dive into the secrets of "Space Weather" (including how to catch the Northern Lights in the Netherlands!) and master the tricks of low-light photography. Then, we’ll head to the common area/terrace for a live, safe observation of the Sun to see sunspots in real-time.
What to expect:
- Live Sun Observation: Use a specialized digital telescope to capture real-time sunspots and solar activity (subject to weather conditions). ☀️
- Smartphone Low Light Photography Hacks: Learn the basics of low-light shooting and "Painting with Light" to level up your night photos. 📸
- Space Weather 101: Learn how to predict Auroras/Northern Lights and what to look for in the Amsterdam night sky. 🌌
- Smart Tech Demo: An intro to smart telescopes and how they can "see" through city light pollution to find nebulae and galaxies. 🤖
- Community Space Club: We’ll set up a WhatsApp group for attendees to coordinate a possible follow-up night session! 🔭
